Apparently unpublished and unique
Lot 785
HUNNIC TRIBES, Uncertain. Damma (Silver, 16 mm, 1.13 g), citing a ruler with the name Bhogaswami, Sind or Punjab, circa 700-800. BHOGASWAMISA ('of Bhogaswami' in Brahmi) One pellet above three pellets. Rev. Blank. Cf. Fishman & Todd, GA33 (for a similar type). Apparently unpublished and unique. Very fine.

From a collection of coins from Central Asia.

This coin belongs to an enigmatic series, perhaps of Hunnic origin, which was called 'the four-dot' series by Fishman & Todd. Most types from this series have two or three letters on the obverse, whereas our example has a much longer legend reading BHOGASWAMISA, reminiscent of Fishman & Todd, GA33 (possible reading: AUTAMAMASA).
